Sky scouting report
Chicago Sky (13-18) at Seattle Storm (13-18)
When: 9 p.m., Key Arena
Web: www.wnba.com, LiveAccess
Last time: On Sunday, the visiting Sky defeated the Phoenix Mercury, 86-55; the host Storm lost to the Connecticut Sun 60-58.
Skinny: The Sky’s 31-point victory over the Mercury on Sunday, facilitated by a career-high 22 points from reserve guard Shay Murphy, was its most lopsided in franchise history, surpassing a 27-point defeat of San Antonio in 2010. Too bad the Sky couldn’t bank some of those extra points. If the Sky wants to have a chance at its first playoff berth in franchise history, a win in each of the final three games in necessary. … Seattle doesn’t seem to be putting up much of a fight lately. The Storm already has qualified for the playoffs, nabbing the fourth and final spot in the West. But Seattle has lost four straight and turned the ball over 25 times in its loss to Connecticut on Sunday in which Olympians Sue Bird (hip) and Lauren Jackson (hamstring) sat out to rest nagging injuries. … The Sky, which has won four of its last six games, sits 1 game behind the New York Liberty for the final playoff spot in the East. The Liberty has three games left as well.
Next: Atlanta Dream at Sky, 7 p.m. Thursday
