Delta makes emergency landing near Green Bay
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Officials at an airport near Green Bay say a Delta flight made an emergency landing after smoke filled the airplane’s cabin.
Austin Straubel International Airport director Tom Miller says the flight left Ashwaubenon shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday. Miller says the plane’s cabin filled with smoke while the flight was headed to Detroit, Mich. The plane returned to Austin Straubel where it made an emergency landing about a half-hour later.
Sixty-five passengers and a crew of four evacuated the plane on the taxiway using a set of stairs. They were taken to the terminal where a medical crew checked everyone. No one was transported to the hospital.
