Get in on the action! Vote for Naperville Sports Weekly's Play of the Month!
NAPERVILLE, IL – The summer Olympics are now in the rear-view mirror but the local high school sports season is well underway and Naperville Community Television has teamed up with Continental Motors to bring viewers a new web-based sports competition and an opportunity to vote for their favorite Play of the Month at NCTV17.com.
Since it began six years ago, Naperville Sports Weekly has been covering the varsity sports from all six Naperville area schools and giving viewers the weekly highlights and scores. During each show the NCTV17 sports team selects one game changing moment as the “Play of the Week.” So far this month, football, tennis, golf and soccer have been singled out for this honor with players from a variety of the schools providing the action.
Starting this Sunday, September 23, it's the viewers' turn to make their voice heard. Viewers can go to NCTV17.com, check out the eight Play of the Month finalists and then vote for their favorite. The clock will be ticking for one week and the winner will be announced at NCTV17.com the following Sunday.
“This is what NCTV17 is all about, bringing sports coverage of our local high school teams right to the community,” said Executive Director Liz Spencer. “We're excited to kick off this new program with the generous support of Continental Motors and give our viewers an opportunity to get involved and support their favorite teams and athletes!”
In addition to airing on Channel 17 at 5:30 AM, 8 AM, 1 PM, 6:30 PM, 11 PM and
1 AM, Naperville Sports Weekly can also be viewed online at NCTV17.com through simultaneous streaming and the highlights can be watched on NCTV17's Facebook and YouTube channel. The “Play of the Month” will run throughout the 2012-13 academic school year.
