Put on your hiking shoes to remember a loved one

Submitted by Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice

Hike for Hospice, a 5K walk along the Fox River to benefit Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice will be start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Peg Bond Center, 151 Island Ave. in Batavia.

This event is a way for family and friends to remember and cerebrate the life of a loved who has died, while at the same time supporting the programs of FVVH.

Walkers will get an event T-shirt and a badge that honors their loved one. There will be a Memory Board for posting photos of loved ones. Following the walk, there’ll be massages, lunch from Moveable Feast and many great giveaways. Prizes for the top pledge-raisers will be given.

Proceeds from Hike for Hospice enable FVVH to continue to provide hospice and bereavement care to the community for free. FVVH is a community-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those with life-threatening illnesses and those who have lost loved ones. The agency serves St. Charles and all of Kane and Kendall counties, plus parts of DuPage, Cook and McHenry counties.

There are three ways to register: online at www.fvvh.org; call the office at (630) 232-2233; or email info@fvvh.org.
