Crisis Line seeks volunteers to man hotline

Economic strife has produced increased feelings of anxiety and depression, which has led to a significant increase in the volume of Crisis Line calls.

The Crisis Line of the Fox Valley offers free, supportive counseling and referrals to community resources.

They are looking for empathic individuals with good communication skills to participate in the 10-week Crisis Line training program. Classes start Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Association for Individual Development’s Behavioral Health site, 1230 N. Highland Ave., Aurora.

The training focuses on mental illness, crisis intervention, suicide, addictions, abuse, and community resources. For details or to register, call Cheryl at (630) 966-4304.
