North Central presenting jazz faculty concerts

Naperville’s North Central College presents its annual Jazz Faculty Concert Series, featuring members of its jazz studies program, beginning this month.

Now in its 10th season, the series will include seven performances, starting Friday, Sept. 14, and running through Friday, May 17. All concerts will be presented in the Madden Theatre in Wentz Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The informal performances will showcase members of the NCC jazz faculty, accompanied by fellow faculty artists.

The concerts will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20, $15 for students and seniors.

Ÿ Friday, Nov. 2: An Evening with jazz vibraphonist Brad Stirtz;

Ÿ Friday, Jan. 4: An Evening with jazz saxophonist Mitch Paliga;

Ÿ Friday, Feb. 8: An Evening with jazz trombonist Joel Adams;

Ÿ Friday, March 8: An Evening with jazz pianist Chris White;

Ÿ Friday, April 5: An Evening with jazz trumpeter Marquis Hill;

Ÿ Friday, May 17: An Evening with jazz vocalist Janice Borla.
