14U Northwest Suburban Fire finish successful final season

Congratulations to the 14U Northwest Suburban Fire travel boys baseball team on its final season together as players enter area high schools — Fremd, Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Cary Grove.

The NWS Fire team had a successful four years of building baseball skills for its players and advancing from a Palatine Post Season recreation league team to a newly formed MSBL (Mid Suburban Baseball League) “A” level team.

The NWS Fire Highlights for 2012 MSBL include placing fifth overall in the MSBL “A” level championship held June 25.

Also, the NWS Fire won two 14U tournaments this season — specifically the Barrington Classic Memorial Day Tournament and the Kenosha Great Lakes championship Tournament, while placing second in a multinational tournament in Michigan. The NWS Fire team finished the 2012 season with 35—11—3 record.

The NWS Fire team coaching staff consisted of manager Logan Simios; head coach Brandon Cook; and assistant coaches Paul Breen and Tom Hentges.

The players are: Joey Breen, Michael Chaires, Ben Dolezal, Jacob Halleen, T.J. Hentges, Payton Kim, J.T. Kolderup, Ryan Laboda, James O’Donnell, Peter Seyring, Connor Simios and Dylan Simios.
