Rockettes teach dance class in Rosemont Saturday

This weekend, the legendary Rockettes will teach aspiring young dancers from Chicago-area dance studios choreography from their new production of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, coming to Rosemont this holiday season.

The lesson will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, on the lawn of MB Financial Park at Rosemont, 5501 Park Place. Dancers from six area dance schools will learn the precision technique, choreography and iconic kickline from the New York dance company. One local dancer will be selected as an “Honorary Rockette” by two company dancers.

The Rockettes will be available to sign autographs from 1 to 2 p.m. The first 100 people in attendance will receive a free collectible Rockettes T-shirt.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular will return for its 11th season to the Akoo Theatre at Rosemont with 34 performances from Dec. 14 through 30. Tickets are now on sale at the Akoo Theatre box office, online at ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
