Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champ offers class in S. Elgin

Budokan Martial Arts of South Elgin, 959 N. La Fox St., will offer a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
The Budokan will host this seminar to introduce Coach Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros, a third-degree black belt, to members and others interested in this martial art. This is the first time that a seminar taught by a world renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt will be held in the South Elgin area.
Comprido is a seven-time world champion, two-time Absolute Champion, Brasa Team Leader, and Jiu-Jitsu coach of MMA champions Brock Lesnar and Demian Maia.
Training will include basic through advanced groundwork maneuvers. If you are a current Budokan member, BJJ fan or a serious fighter, you are more than welcome to participate. The seminar is suitable for all skill levels, ages, genders and experience.
