Lombard to host shredding and electronics collection Oct. 6

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Village of Lombard, with funding assistance from DuPage County, will offer free paper shredding for individuals on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon.

This service will be offered alongside the regularly scheduled free electronics collection on the first Saturday of each month from April through November at Main Street and Parkside Avenue in the downtown. The shredding service is not intended for businesses but the electronics collection is open to all. This collection is in addition to the Village's Recycling Extravaganza that will take place on September 29.

The Chair of the Lombard's Environmental Concerns Committee, Trustee Laura Fitzpatrick, announced that "this one-time paper shredding service, in conjunction with the monthly electronic waste recycling event, offers an important opportunity to residents that are concerned about the security of recycling papers containing private information." Direct any questions to the Lombard Public Works Department at (630) 620-5740.
