Buffalo Grove to host recycling event

The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County will conduct a combined document destruction and electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 15, 151 Hasting Lane in Buffalo Grove. The event is free to the public. Residents must live in one of SWANCC’s member communities and identification will be checked for proof of residency. Typical documents to shred include medical records, bank statements, personal files, retired tax forms, etc. Staples and paper clips are acceptable, but binders should be removed. Residents will be limited to six grocery-size bags or boxes of documents per event. Under state law, only the following electronics will be accepted for recycling: computers — PCs and laptops, computer monitors, mice, keyboards, zip drives, printers, fax machines, video game consoles, scanners, mobile phones, MP3 players, televisions, PDAs, VHS players, DVD players and DVR/cable boxes.
