Waukegan run for kids, arts

Strap on your running shoes and join Dandelion Gallery for its inaugural 5K Run/Walk For the Arts & Kids 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 22 in the downtown Waukegan Arts District. This event aspires to bring the community together in a healthy endeavor to raise awareness of the importance of the Arts in Waukegan. A portion of the proceeds will go to the gallery’s newest campaign, “Spreading the Seeds”. Spreading the Seeds is a scholarship foundation in which three Waukegan High School seniors from the class 2013 will be awarded $500 scholarships for their outstanding commitment, creativity, and achievement in the visual arts.
