One dead, 1 wounded during homeowners meeting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A neighbor says people were intimidated by the man accused in a fatal shooting at a Louisville homeowner’s association meeting because he was unpredictable and threatening.

Fifty-five-year-old Mahmoud Yousef Hindi faces charges of murder, assault and seven counts wanton endangerment in the Thursday evening shooting.

Police are investigating whether a zoning dispute with the association over a fence around his house led to the shooting.

Resident Barbara Pass says Hindi threatened a next door neighbor so much that the family moved.

She says he would say things like, “You know I’ve got a gun and I just might use it.”

Hindi does not yet have an attorney and is set to be arraigned Saturday.
