Quad Cities airport getting $2.8M federal grant
MOLINE, Ill. — The Quad City International Airport is receiving a $2.8 million grant from the federal government.
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin on Wednesday announced the funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The money will go to the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County in western Illinois. It’s meant for improvements at the airport in Moline.
Specifically, the money will be spent on snow removal equipment.
Last year, construction was finished on a 10,000-foot runway at the airport. The project was paid for with $34 million in federal funds.
