Body found inside Indiana apartment that burned month ago
INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis say a body has been found inside an apartment that was badly damaged by fire about a month ago.
A police spokesman say a detective found the body in an apartment complex on the city’s northwest side Wednesday night after a report of a strange odor coming from the apartment. Officer Kendale Adams says an autopsy was planned to try and identify the body, but that the Aug. 5 fire and the death didn’t immediately appear to be connected.
Fire officials say the renter of the apartment wasn’t home when the blaze apparently started in the kitchen and that no one was injured.
