St. Charles man admits sex abuse

A St. Charles man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a woman who occasionally baby-sat for his infant son, prosecutors said Friday.

Michael L. Listy, 32, of the 1000 block of South Second Street, was sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to a single felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

Prosecutors said Listy engaged in unwanted sexual contact against the 24-year-old victim and also struck her in the face and head at his apartment on Nov. 17, 2010.

According to a police report, the pair had beer and vodka after the woman finished baby-sitting Listy’s son. Later on, the woman passed out and Listy attacked her, trying to rip off her clothes before she broke free and headed to the door. He grabbed her, threw her on the couch and sexually assaulted her, police said.

When Listy got up to use the washroom, the woman was able to call 911 on her cellphone, authorities said.

Listy was given credit for at least 161 days served in the Kane County jail. He must also register as a sex offender.
