Teens can audition for Improv Playhouse production

An audition call for teen actors for the drama classic, “The Diary of Anne Frank,” an Improv Playhouse Acting Conservatory for Teens production, will be from 7:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 4, at the IP Theater, 735 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.

Anne Frank was a German Jewish girl whose family fled the Nazi persecution of Jews in Germany in the 1930s, settling in what they hoped was the safety of Amsterdam, Holland. When the Nazis invaded Holland in 1940, the terror returned and the Franks went into hiding in a “secret annex,” hidden rooms at the back of Otto Frank’s business premises.

Directed by Erin Neal, rehearsals will be 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 6 through Nov. 11 at the IP Theater. A registration fee of $295 is required prior to audition. Actors will be assessed and placed in roles. Only intermediate to advanced actors may register for this production.
