Student assessment volunteers

Volunteers are sought to evaluate and read to children as part of a collaboration between the United Way of Lake County and Waukegan District 60 to evaluate skills and school readiness of incoming kindergartners. Anyone interested should send a phone number and email address and Spanish-speaking abilities, if applicable, to jennifer.little@uwlakeco.org or (847) 775-1057 by Friday, Aug. 31. Training will be 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 or 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. The student assessments will be done at a Waukegan elementary school Sept. 10-14.
