Fire safety expo:

The Lake County Fire Chiefs Association will host its annual Fire Safety Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Gurnee Mills. A variety of activities will be offered at the free event, including a kids challenge, slide down the fire pole, ride on a fire truck, K-9 presentation, moon walk, Smokey Bear, and more. A raffle drawing also will be held. Parking is in Lot E near Value City Furniture. Proceeds benefit fire education programs. Visit gurneemills.com.
