The popular family event is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, with the start/finish on Newberry Avenue in downtown Libertyville.

This race has become one of the top evening 5K races in northern Illinois. The professionally chip-timed and challenging course winds through the picturesque east side of downtown Libertyville where the streets are lined with neighborhood spectators.

Registration before Aug. 26 is $30 for adults and $20 for children; after that date it is $40/$25. Participants must be 9 years old at the time of the race. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, goody bags and a post-race party at Mickey Finn’s where runners and their families can enjoy dinner and rehydration.

There are multiple age category awards for children and Fit and Fast Family. There is no walk-up registration the day of the event.
