Palatine salon hosts baby food and formula drive

Salon MMM, located at 49 N. Bothwell St. in downtown Palatine, celebrates its fifth year anniversary this September with a baby food and formula drive for the Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity (PHD). Beginning Aug. 24, and running throughout the month of September, Salon MMM will be collecting donations for the PHD Baby Closet.

“In 2011, we saw more than 2,600 visits to our Baby Closet,” said Meg Domzalski, Baby Closet co-manager. “At each visit our clients receive much needed baby food, formula, diapers and other items to assist in raising a healthy family. Donations are always needed.”

Individuals who make a donation to the drive will receive a Hair U Wear clip in a feather design or a Great Lengths design. Each of the hair accessories are valued at $20-$30 and an appointment for service is not required.

Since they opened five years ago, Salon MMM has been a strong supporter of PHD.

“The partnership between Salon MMM and PHD is a natural, we both work with women to help them be the best they can be,” said Salon MMM owner operator Michelle Szczesny. “We are excited to have been in Palatine for five years and giving back to a great organization is the perfect way to celebrate.”
