Lombard's annual Senior Fair set for Oct. 3

LOMBARD, Illinois — The village of Lombard's annual Senior Fair is set for Wednesday, October 3 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Senior Fair will take place at the Lombard Community Building, 433 E. St. Charles Road.

A popular attendee is the Secretary of State's Mobile Driver's License Facility, which allows attendees to renew their licenses or receive Illinois State ID cards. Other services offered include flu shots, massages, state and county services specific to seniors and local agencies with information intended for seniors.

“It's important to note that although many of the booths are targeted toward seniors, the event is open to everyone,” said Trustee Keith Giagnorio, Chair of the Community Relations Committee who sponsors the event.

Community Relations committee members include Ahmed Ali, Pam Bedard, Lisa Biegalski, Sharon Kuderna, Michael Ledonne, Gladys Piper, Sharon Vish and Barbara Ware. Members help in the planning and staffing of the event.

One highlight of the event will be the announcement of the 2012 “Senior of the Year” award winners, which will be announced at approximately 10 a.m. Residents are encouraged to nominate their favorite seniors for the award.

There is a waiting list for participants for this year's Senior Fair, according to Joelyn Kott, Communications Coordinator and staff liaison to the Community Relations Committee. Anyone with questions or a participation request may contact Kott at (630) 620-5718.
