Enjoy Huntley Artfest this weekend

The Huntley Artfest is a celebration of fine arts in the village of Huntley. Artists from across the country participate in this late summer event that attracts art admirers and patrons from Huntley, Del Webb Sun City and area communities.

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 at the corner of Church and Main streets in the shadow of the historic First Congregational United Church of Christ, built in 1852.

Patrons will find ample parking on the festival grounds and in nearby business and public parking lots within two blocks. Plenty of handicap parking will be made available as well as special assistance for senior citizens.

Highlights of the 2012 Huntley Artfest include:

타 Free live how-to art demonstrations.

타 Huntley High School Visual Arts Department showcase and benefit sale.

타 A large stage area featuring live performances of musical groups, dance troupes and singers throughout the day.

타 Food concessions featuring grilled bratwurst, hamburgers, hot dogs, pork sandwiches, corn dogs, nachos, french fries, funnel cakes and more.
