Audition for Improv Playhouse’s ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.’

An audition call for students in grades 4-9 for the Broadway musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.,” an Improv Playhouse Showstoppers production, will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Karger Center, 1850 Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Shows will take place Dec. 7-9.

Taking place in New York City in 1922, “Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.” tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself.

It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz; a time when women were entering the workforce and the culture was changing forever. Based on the movie, the stage version includes a full score of new songs and dance numbers with roles for both boys and girls.

Rehearsals will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays and 1-3 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 8 to Dec. 9.
