Afrofest returns to Greenbelt Cultural Center Aug. 18

Experience dance, music, African market and food at the Greenbelt Cultural Center’s 25th annual Afrofest from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Greenbelt Cultural Center, 1215 Green Bay Road in North Chicago.

Two stages for both youth and adult will keep the entertainment flowing with a variety of music, including hip-hop, gospel and R&B. Band headliners include Crucial Conflict, The Fatal 4, Ultimate Concept, the Archie Parks Project Band, the Unique Band and more.

Poetry readings, a fashion show, a drum circle and line dancers will round out the entertainment.

Ribs and other tasty food will be available for purchase. The market will feature clothing, jewelry and other imported specialties. For your comfort, bring a blanket or lawn chair.
