Local athletes excel at Special Olympics

Congratulations to the SRSNLC All-Stars Softball team. The All-Stars worked hard to take third place in the District 13 Special Olympics softball tournament held July 22 in Deerfield. The All-Stars received the bronze medal after competing in two very well-played games.

Athletes on the All-Stars team are: Chomedy O., Grant L., Christian T., Stephen H., Kassandra M., Jeremy A., Mark S., Timothy T., and Donna W. Not present at the tournament, but a big help throughout the season were: Aidan F., Gary R., David E., David G. and Sam M. The All-Stars are coached by Becky Martin, Julie Rushmeyer, Katie Kozuch, Jordan Feldman, Sue Smock and Carmen Clark-Stokes. Congratulations to all the athletes on a great season.

The park district would also like to congratulate Christian T. on winning first place in the Special Olympics District 13 Tennis tournament. Christian will be heading downstate to compete in the statewide Special Olympics Tennis Tournament. The Waukegan Park District would like to say congratulations to all the athletes and wish Christian good luck downstate. Go All Stars!
