Teens charged with smashing mailboxes in Bartlett
Four 18-year-olds have been charged after nearly a dozen mailboxes were smashed in Bartlett during the early morning hours Saturday, according to police.
Police responded to the 800 block of Kingston Lane at 3:40 a.m. Saturday for a report of the mailboxes being smashed.
Officers at the scene found about 20 had been damaged, as well as two mirrors on a vehicle and a portable toilet that was tipped over in the street, according to police.
Police identified the offenders and charged Cameron J. Burke of Bartlett, Nathan Odisho of St. Charles, Michael R. Murphy of Wayne and Tyler R. Hess of Bartlett with criminal damage to property.
Murphy was also charged with resisting and obstructing a peace officer after running from the scene, police said.
Burke was also ticketed for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
All four suspects are due in court Aug. 28.
