Golf Outing Benefits Family Learning Program

On August 8, Wheeling Park District and School District #21 hosted the Family Learning Program Benefit Golf Outing at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling. Over 150 people attended the event which raised funds to support the Family Learning Program.

The unique initiative was started in 2003 as a partnership between Wheeling Park District and School District #21. Educational life skills are provided to parents of second language families in School District #21 while their children enjoy supervised recreation activities.

“It is fantastic to see so many people come out and support a program that truly does make our community a better place to live,” said Jan Buchs, Executive Director of Wheeling Park District.
