Hoffman Estates recycling event

The village of Hoffman Estates and the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County are sponsoring a combined document destruction and electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the village’s public works facility, 2305 Pembroke Avenue. There is no cost to participate, but residents must live in one of the agency’s member communities. IDs will be checked for proof of residency. Residents will be limited to shredding six grocery-size bags or boxes of documents. Eligible electronics include computers; printers and scanners; computer monitors, mice, keyboards and zip drives; fax machines; video game consoles; mobile phones and PDAs; VHS and DVD players; televisions; MP3 players; and DVR/cable boxes.
