Caregivers can enjoy some TLC in Geneva

Caregivers need care, too. Caregivers play a vital role in supporting those facing a cancer diagnosis. The LivingWell Cancer Resource Center and the American Cancer Society are teaming up to celebrate, honor and revitalize those who are caring for someone with cancer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug 11.
Activities for the day include two nutrition workshops by Sandra Hunter, RD, LDN; a restorative yoga class; therapeutic martial arts by Sensei Sue McAley, MS, LPC; mini-Reiki sessions; putting lessons with Golf Pro Nick Schenk, bring your putter; relaxation with Art, two “Taking Care of Yourself” workshops by Laurel Fisher, MS, LPC; Pet Therapy/Comfort Dog visits and more. Food and refreshments will be served, and attendees can drop in or spend the day.
This event will be held at the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, 442 Williamsburg Ave. in Geneva. This event is free to caregivers, but registration is required at (630) 262-1111. Space is limited; register early.
LivingWell Cancer Resource Center provides information and support services that address the challenges of people living with cancer, their family members and their friends. All services are provided at no charge to participants. LivingWell offers networking and support groups, educational programs, mind-body fitness classes, youth programs, a library, individual psychological and nutritional counseling and other services. The center is at 1803 W. State St. in Geneva.
