No arrests in fatal shooting near UIC campus

Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man who was gunned down just blocks from the University of Illinois’ Chicago campus.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says Dante Young was pronounced dead Monday night at Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

Authorities say Young was standing on a sidewalk when the gunman walked up to him and fired several shots, striking the victim multiple times.

There’s no word of any arrests in the shooting.
