Mom who let daughter be tied to drunken driver’s car sent to prison

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A Fort Wayne woman who allowed her 7-year-old daughter to be strapped to the hood of a car her drunken neighbor was driving has been sentenced to six months in prison.

The Journal Gazette reported that Allen Superior Judge Wendy Davis ordered 30-year-old Jessica Clark to serve prison time three days after sentencing 29-year-old Aaron Stefanski of Fort Wayne to 18 months on home detention for driving drunk with his three young children and Clark’s daughter strapped to the car.

Davis sentenced Clark to 2.5 years in prison on the neglect of a dependent charge but ordered two years suspended and to be served on probation. The first six months of her probation will be served on home detention.

Clark was on a suspended prison sentence when she was charged.
