South Elgin hires Ward as athletic director

South Elgin High School has hired Jason Ward as new athletic director.

Ward comes from Cowherd Middle School in Aurora, where he was assistant principal (2011-12). Prior to that he was the dean of students at East Aurora High School (2008-11).

Ward, who attended Crete-Monee High School where he played football, basketball, baseball and track and field, graduated from Benedictine University in 2003 with a B.A. in special education. He has an M.S. in education leadership from the University of St. Francis. He taught special education at West Aurora High School from 2003-08.
