Dave Rudolf to perform in Libertyville

The Cook Memorial Public Library District would like to invite families with kids of all ages to an end-of-summer concert featuring award-winning singer/songwriter Dave Rudolf on Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Cook Park in Libertyville. The interactive family show will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Cook Mansion steps and admission is free. Registration is not required.

Rudolf, who is from the Chicago area, is not only a singer and a songwriter but also a children’s book author who has entertained families and children with his wit and musical talent for more than 20 years. He has released 10 children’s albums and has written songs for Disney — including the “Winnie the Pooh” album — earning a gold record and a Grammy Award nomination. Rudolf’s wacky production of songs, humor and heavy audience participation makes for an ideal family event. In addition to Rudolf’s original music and fun-in-the-sun favorites, there will be hula hoops, beach balls, a conga line, limbo, bubble machines and much more.

A 15-time nominee for National Association of Campus Activities awards, Rudolf has received numerous awards from parent groups, including three Parents’ Choice Honor Awards. He has appeared on national TV on “Bozo’s Circus” and has performed as an opening act for Cheech & Chong, The Beach Boys, Tim McGraw, The Kentucky Headhunters, Sha Na Na, the Gatlin Brothers and the Smothers Brothers.

Rudolf’s rare blend of “musicianship,” clean sense of humor and talent for drawing his audience into the show, will captivate both kids and adults alike.
