Des Plaines man convicted of murder

A Des Plaines man was convicted on July 19 for the murder of a 15-year-old boy on Chicago’s Far North Side. According to the circuit court clerk’s records, James Galambos, 20, of the 900 block of Beau Drive was convicted of murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm in the July 2011 shooting of Sergio Torrez. Galambos also wounded another teen during the shooting. He next appears in a Chicago courtroom on Aug. 24.
