Improv Playhouse presents ‘A Night of Storytelling’

Improv Playhouse will present “A Night of Storytelling” with several of Chicago’s premiere performers.

IP is bringing in a veteran cast of Chicago Storytelling All-Stars, including Chicago’s first Moth Grand Slam winner Shannon Cason, Moth Story Slam winner and story producer Scott Whitehair, Second Story company member Earliana “Earl” McLaurin, Chicago comedian and actor Jeremy Schaefer and Goodman Theatre teaching artist Paul Whitehouse.

At 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, patrons will enjoy a performance where each of these five top Chicago tale tellers will recount real first-person stories ranging from comedic to heartfelt. It is strongly encouraged that only those 18 and older attend.

An improv comedy set by the IP House Team is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. family-friendly show. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling Improv Playhouse at (847) 875-8578 and available at the door. Tickets for both shows cost $15.

The IP Theater is at 735 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. Improv Playhouse is a BYOB venue.
