Children's Memorial donations still being accepted
The Hoffman Estates Children's Memorial is a permanent site for grieving families and loved ones to remember their departed children. It is a partnership between the village of Hoffman Estates and the Hoffman Estates Park District, as well as the generous sponsors who graciously donated money toward the completion of the memorial.
The site is highly visible, located just outside the entrance to the Department of Health and Human Services at the Hoffman Estates village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. It incorporates a circular concrete bench, five commemorative bronze statues and customizable brick pavers. The goal of the memorial is to remember lost loved ones in a positive, healthy way.
If you would like to purchase a brick for your loved one, please call Sue Lessen at (847) 781-2606, or email her at suzanne.lessen@hoffmanestates.org.
Each brick costs $75, and includes two lines of information (name, and dates of birth and death). There are over 2,000 bricks available, and the purchase of a brick benefits the Hoffman Estates Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All contributions to the memorial are tax deductible. Bricks are for children up to 22 years old. Children must have attended school in Hoffman Estates, or lived in the village if under school age.
