UN stance on global warming disturbing

Eugene Robinson’s column on July 4 has the potential to mislead readers. Robinson believes in anthropogenic global warming (AGW) or that carbon emissions cause climate change. As I stated in a recent Fencepost letter, our sun plays a major role in climate change, in spite of deceptive data to the contrary from the United Nations Panel on Climate Change. In fact, a number of people and groups associated with the UN are responsible for advancing this position on global warming.

One organization that works with the UN in promoting AGW is The Club of Rome. Its book, “The First Global Revolution,” states: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine, and the like would fit the bill. The real enemy then is humanity itself.”

The threat of global warming has been invented. According to Dr. Daniel Botkin, “The only way to get our society to truly change is to frighten people with the possibility of a catastrophe.”

Maurice Strong, Canadian billionaire, socialist, and founder of the UN environmental program envisions a new world order. He stated; “People in the industrialized nations are not expected to cooperate in their own demise. They will have to be forced. They will not like it when their food is taken for global distribution. They will not approve when they are taxed by a world authority to finance foreign political projects. They will not voluntarily give up their cars or resettle into smaller houses or communal barracks to satisfy the resource allocation quota of a UN agency.”

There is a stench emanating from the UN.
