No logic in claims about conceal carry

In response to Martin Zell’s letter, where do I begin? He is claiming that conceal carry is obviously “dangerous” and will no doubt lead to gunfights in restaurants, everywhere. If that were so, why do the remaining 49 states who have conceal carry have so few gun death problems compared to, let’s see, Chicago?

Gang banger deaths every day. Innocent children shot to death every day.

Sounds like conceal carry would be a great crime stopper. But oh, I forgot: Illinois is “safer” than those other gun-toting dangerous states.
