Classic Cinemas presents midnight screening of 'Back to the Future'

Spend a night with Marty McFly and Doc as they embark on an exciting adventure at the Tivoli Theatre! On Friday, July 27th at midnight, a digitally remastered print of the 1985 summer blockbuster “Back to the Future,” starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, will be hitting the big screen using Tivoli Theatre's newly enhanced 4k digital projection and sound system. Movie admission is only $5, and tickets can be purchased at the Tivoli box office, located at 5021 Highland Ave in downtown Downers Grove.

Filmed in 1985, “Back to the Future” (PG) follows Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), a typical American teenager of the eighties, who is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean "time machine" invented by a slightly mad scientist named Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). During his often hysterical, always amazing trip back in time, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love - so he can get back to the future. “Back to the Future” had the fourth-highest opening weekend of 1985 and was the top grossing film of the year. The film marked the beginning of a franchise, with sequels Back to the Future Parts II and III released in 1989 and 1990.

And, fans are in luck because the DeLorean Midwest Connection, one of the longest running DeLorean clubs in existence, will be bringing a number of DeLoreans to display before the midnight show. The Delorean became iconic as the time machine in “Back to the Future,” and now fans can learn everything there is to know about the Delorean and its cool features including its gull-wing doors, stainless-steel body panels and rear-mounted engine. DeLorean Midwest Connection members will be available to answer questions and discuss “Back to the Future” fun facts before the movie begins!
