Beacon Point offers sense of community for families
Two years ago, Reena and Arun Paul sought a family home in a culturally diverse, friendly community in Hoffman Estates. With a 17-month-old son, they also wanted a neighborhood where families with young children lived.
Beacon Pointe in Hoffman Estates offered that and more.
“I fell in love with our home at first sight,” said Reena Paul as she recalled the grand feeling upon entering the two-story foyer. “The house was spacious; it fit our needs. And it was a nice place to raise our son. We plan to stay here forever.”
Beacon Pointe by Ryland Homes features executive homes with 2,709 to 3,779 square feet, four bedrooms, 2½ baths, first-floor study, basement and two- or three-car attached garage. Many homes offer the latest amenities such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and hardwood flooring.
Residents tend to be in their mid-30s with young children or starting their families, said Susan Klatt, broker associate with Coldwell Broker Residential Brokerage. “Most homes have been loved by one homeowner, but we’re starting to see some people selling mainly because of relocations.
“Lovely lush yards are starting to fill in from new construction. Many residents have professional landscaping and even sprinkler systems because they take pride in their homes and neighborhood.”
Situated three minutes from the I-90 Beverly exit on Shoe Factory Road, easy access to the tollway is a big draw for buyers as it was for Paul. A physician at Cook County Hospital, Reena travels about an hour to work, but says it’s worth the drive when she comes home to a nice peaceful neighborhood.
“My parents live about 25 minutes away in Chicago, just off I-90, which is another reason we moved here,” Paul said. “Also, we’re close to our church community, day care, Alexian Brothers Hospital and Schaumburg for restaurants and shopping.”
Beacon Pointe offers a convenient location for executives and professionals at Sears Centre, Allstate and AT&T and is popular with transferees, Klatt said. Business travelers are only 20 to 30 minutes from O’Hare.
The subdivision offers a sense of community. When driving through the neighborhood you see a lot of families taking an evening walk, walking with their children with pets in tow, and they like to stop and visit, Klatt said.
Residents Shanta and Shanker Patel enjoy taking long walks in the neighborhood. “It feels like a resort area, that kind of living. And every time we’re out, we make new friends,” Shanker Patel said.
“It’s a beautiful place to live, said Patel who moved from Niles to a larger home in Beacon Pointe four years ago. Patel likes all the new development in the area including new parks and shopping.
The fire department at Beacon Pointe Drive and Beverly Road is new and has the best of everything, Klatt said.
Mariano’s will anchor the Hoffman Village Shopping Center at Golf and Barrington roads where complete exterior facade renovation will include stonework and new tower and other design elements to add visual interest and a new color scheme.
Now Cobbler Crossing offers nearby shopping at the northeast corner of Golf Road and Waverly Drive in Elgin.
For recreation, Beacon Pointe sits near the Poplar Creek forest preserve with a paved bike trail that loops about nine miles around the preserve through scenic forest areas and meadows.
