Antique auto show to be held in Lake Forest

The Antique Automobile Club of America Illinois Region and Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Rotary Club will present the 64th annual Antique Auto Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, on the grass at Deerpath Middle School 95 W. Deerpath Road, Lake Forest. The show is the oldest continually running car show in the United States.

This year’s show, “American Luxury Cars of the ’50s and ’60s,” will feature up to 300 vintage cars and trucks that epitomized the American dream of automobile ownership, including Cadillacs, Lincolns, Imperials, Packards and many more. Admission is $10, children 10 and younger are free. More than 3,000 enthusiasts are expected to attend. The Spot Light Show Tent will host presentations where attendees can learn more about featured cars and owners can share their personal experiences.

Guests can look forward to taking in all the classic cars, placing a “peoples choice” vote for their favorite entries, enjoying lunch and beverages, meeting car enthusiasts and listening to their presentations, and watching the awards presentation.

This year’s fundraising will benefit the “Equestrian Connection,” a local charity that improves the quality of life for more than 220 individuals with disabilities, emotional illness, and paralysis through the use of highly trained horses, skilled and experienced therapists, and an understanding pool of understanding volunteers. Fundraising will also benefit the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Rotary Foundation in its philanthropic efforts. Through the generous support of sponsors, advertisers and donors, the foundation embraces “service above self” as it continues its 53 years of philanthropy.
