Broadway in Montgomery. Attendance is required to receive an application to partner with Fox Valley Habitat.
Donations and volunteers are needed for both the ReStore and Fox Valley Habitat. For the ReStore, call (630) 585-5508 or email volunteer@foxvalleyrestore.org; for Fox Valley Habitat, call (630) 859-3333 or email j.barrett@foxvalleyhabitat.org.
The Rev. Jeff Barrett, Fox Valley Habitat executive director, said the volunteer group was founded in 1989. Since then, volunteers have built or rehabbed 45 homes in Aurora and Montgomery for low-income working families in need of affordable housing. The group’s first North Aurora project will launch soon.
Fox Valley Habitat’s current project, the Angel Corral home at 745 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora, will be completed and dedicated soon.
ReStore sales profits support Fox Valley Habitat’s mission to build affordable housing. Ninety-five percent of Fox Valley Habitat’s home building budget is dedicated to local housing needs, while five percent of store revenues after expenses support global housing projects through Habitat for Humanity International.
Habitat issues no-interest mortgages to partnering families. Partners are required to complete 300 to 500 hours of sweat equity volunteer service on their homes and other partnering family homes. Visit foxvalleyhabitat.org.
