Great Western Trail Bridge Work Continues in Lombard with Temporary Lane Closures
According to Lombard's Public Works Department, on Wednesday, July 18 the contractor will be closing the two east-bound lanes of St. Charles Road from St. Charles Place for about 500 feet east. All traffic will be shifted to the west-bound side of St. Charles Road. On Thursday, July 19, the contractor will close the west-bound side of St. Charles Road in the same location and traffic will shift to the east-bound side of St. Charles Road. The closures will be for the installation of steel pile foundations for the abutments of the Great Western Trail Bridge over St. Charles Road. The lane closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
