Walsh’s strategy is loud obstructionism

As Congressman Joe Walsh once again clumsily struggles to remove his foot from his mouth, he continues to be emblematic of what is wrong with government and politics today. Walsh is the poster boy for covering lack of content and taste by mixing a broth of criticism, attack, and insult.

Implying that Tammy Duckworth cannot be considered a “true hero” because she too often references her combat experience and resulting injuries is plain ignorant, as well as the desperate act of a failed incumbent.

However, we shouldn’t be surprised. This is the person who, in the last twelve months, called the president of the United States a liar, shouted down a constituent in an Antioch restaurant and inferred that a prominent civil rights leader would not have a job if there were no entitlements for the indigent.

Dredging up his well-documented mistakes in his private life would be piling on an already badly tarnished reputation. He has been successful in neither private nor public life. He covers his lack of accomplishment and imagination with deflection and personal innuendo.

Walsh is at his best when he resorts to vague policy generalities, name calling, and obstructionism. That is essentially both his political strategy and his platform.
