No injuries reported in garage fire in Palatine

No one was injured Thursday night when a fire broke out at in an attached garage of a home on the 600 block of South Stuart Avenue in Palatine. When crews responded to the report at 11:48 p.m., they found smoke and flames and searched the home to verify no one was inside. The fire, which authorities estimate caused $50,000 in damage, was under control in 19 minutes. A total of 18 Palatine firefighters worked at the scene with assistance from the Rolling Meadows Fire Department and Palatine Rural Fire Protection District. The cause is under investigation.
