Elgin Kiwanis Club meetings cover different topics

Topical programs are fixtures of the weekly meetings of the Kiwanis Club of Elgin.
On Tuesday, July 17, Dawn Stoner, project manager at Sherman Hospital, will discuss the demolition and transformation planned for the old Sherman Hospital campus.
On Tuesday, July 24, Sandy Morganstein, physicist, inventor and entrepreneur, will describe how he teaches physics and the Big Bang Theory to third-graders using demonstrative educational methods, including balloons.
On Tuesday, July 31, learn how farmers are keeping up with consumers’ demands for safe, nutritious and affordable food in this program, “Food, Our Fundamental Right,” presented by Cathy Richardson of the National Pork Board.
The Kiwanis Club of Elgin, now in its 92nd year, received its charter March 9, 1920, and serves the Kiwanis International mission to change the world one child at a time, one community at a time. In 2011, the Elgin Noon Club donated more than $15,000 to organizations in Elgin and South Elgin.
