ArtReach Theatre goes ‘Blonde’

ArtReach Educational Theatre in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company is staging “Legally Blonde” the musical Aug. 3-5 at the Meadows Center Auditorium, 2850 W. Golf Road, Rolling Meadows.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3; 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Tickets are $16 advance and $18 at the door. Call (630) 808-5852. Reservations are recommended; group discounts available.

Sorority star Elle Woods doesn’t take “no” for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone “serious,” Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

The production is being directed by Dan Walsh, of Chicago, with choreography by Walsh; Sheryl Strain of Itasca; Anne Santiago of Los Angeles; Jonah Parra of Palatine; and Olivia DalPorto of Lake Zurich. Musical direction is by Lexi Burkley, of Lake Zurich.

Principal cast members are Dominique Buonicore, Berwyn, as Elle Woods; Mike Nicosia, Pingree Grove, as Warner Huntington; Jonah Parra as Emmett; Steve Melone, Chicago, as Callahan; Lexi Burkley as Vivienne; Angela Panzarella, Wheeling, as Paulette; Sheryl Strain as Brooke Wyndham; Samantha Gatwood, Elk Grove Village, as Enid; Jamie Podgorny, Inverness, as Whitney; Jackie Podgorny, Inverness, as Kate; and Andy Moore, Itasca, as both Dewey and Mr. Woods.

Additional cast members include Jake Rosenberg of Arlington Heights; Peter Hoadley of Palatine; Dylan DeWitt, Buffalo Grove; Matt Goodmanson, Arlington Heights. Playing the Delta Nu sorority girls are Amanda Gilbert, Kildeer; Allison Nakazawa, Hoffman Estates; Brynn Hoffman, Mundelein; Vanessa Balis, Palatine; LilliRose Farnell, Schaumburg; Elizabeth Szerszen, Elk Grove Village; Olivia DalPorto, Lake Zurich; Samantha Goodmanson, Arlington Heights; Jackie Podgorny; Jamie Podgorny; Madalyn Griseto, Elk Grove Village; Breton Spiller, Mount Prospect; Rachel Corrado, Lake Zurich; and Stefanie Schembari, Mundelein.
