Arlington Hts. to replace brick sidewalk

The paver bricks on the sidewalk on the west side of Arlington Heights Road from Sigwalt Street to the railroad tracks will be replaced as early as next week.

The bricks are worn and faded, according to a report from Arlington Heights village staff.

The village board approved a contract this week with Midwest Brickpaving Inc. of Antioch for removal, replacement and sealing.

The company, which had done earlier paver projects for the village, will be paid $22,000 for labor and sand. The village purchases the pavers and sealers on its own. Four companies bid on the project, with the highest coming in at $60,000.
