Palatine offers free emergency preparedness training classes

The village of Palatine will hold free emergency preparedness training classes beginning Friday, July 13, at the Emergency Operations Center at Village Hall, 200 E. Wood St., Palatine. The five-session “boot camp” will feature topics such as preparedness, the psychology of terrorism, search and rescue, fire safety and medical operations. The classes will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. July 13 and July 20 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14 and July 21. A final class will be offered July 24 for optional advanced training, which qualifies participants to become an active part of the Palatine’s response capability.
